Lavaux - Humankind World Heritage
Featured in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list since 2007, Lavaux is located in Western Switzerland, between Lausanne and Montreux.
It is a region of steep slopes falling into Lake LĂ©man (Lake Geneva), where monks and winegrowers have shaped the landscape over the centuries, transforming this hostile area in 1000 terraces covered of vineyards.
Sheltered from the north winds, exposed to both the sun and its reflection from the lake, Lavaux produces some of the best wines of Switzerland and is a highly valued tourist destination thanks to its spectacular scenery.
This app lets you explore this beautiful region, through photos and information on towns and villages, winegrowers and wines.
It includes online maps to calculate routes and detailed maps you can use without connection and even print in high quality.
When on site, geolocation tools will help you discover caves and cellars to taste the wines, sorted by distance from your current location.
Opening hours and routes will ensure youll be on time for an aperitif! And if the wine cellar is open only by appointment, youll be able to call the winegrower directly from the app to arrange your visit.
This app is part of the iSwitzerland Collection, a series of pictorial guides intended to help you discover all the beauties of Switzerland, hidden or famous.
It is supplemented by a section featuring more than 250 cities, towns and points of interest explored for you all over Switzerland by the authors of the guide.
